In 1993, the owners of the bar traveled to Ireland to salvage some of the wood, stained glass and other artifacts. They used all these pieces to build the popular night spot, aptly called "The Wicked Monk". The back bar, stained glass, church pulpit, gargoyles and the candlelight surroundings, all lend to the illusion of the original monastery. "Every piece of history has its modern day use with the stained glass lighting up the back bar. Somewhat more contemporary is the Original Mural which graces the full length of the bar. Everyone who helped build this landmark, has been immortalized in this 36ft original painting on the ceiling. It is said that not only the interior of the bar made the long cold journey across the Atlantic.
