As soon as you walk through the doors of The Grill on the Alley in Chicago, you are transported to another time and place reminiscent of the great American grills of yesteryear. A virtual art gallery adorns the walls of our many dining rooms while the sounds of Ella Fitzgerald linger in the background as white-jacketed waiters attend to your every need. Since opening in June 2000, this high-end steak and seafood house has made its mark on Chicago with locals, and tourists alike. The Grill has become one of the most popular places to gather for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and all types of special occasions. We specialize in fresh seafood, assorted steaks, and chops. Our Mid-Western grain-fed beef is the highest quality beef available. We are recognized for our hearty portions and unlike most high-end steak houses in Chicago, The Grill on the Alley does not treat starches and vegetables as an a la carte dish. Almost everything is made daily, in house, by our Executive Chef Jorge Alvarez and his staff; from our salad dressings and sauces, to our home-style desserts. To complement the outstanding traditional American fare, The Grill on the Alley offers an extensive wine list with hundreds of the finest wines from around the globe. Our bar is the place to enjoy casual dining in the midst of good company in a nostalgic atmosphere 365 days a year.
