Kristophe is the flagship restaurant of Krzysztof (Kris) Drzewiecki, who is best known for his well-loved Polish restaurant Krolewskie Jadlo (King’s Feast) in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Kristophe serves eastern European inspired comfort food in a warm welcoming setting. We take our wine, beer, liquor, and cocktail programs very seriously and offer beverages to please any taste. Kris came to New York in 1998, with a close friend, both on student visas, speaking very little English, and stayed with their adoptive aunt. After 3 days working construction they soon found themselves in the kitchen of Marc Murphy at Café Milou. 6 months later, the two migrated to Nobu where Kris rotated kitchen stations, honing his skills for over 2 years. For years Kris had been eyeing a small and slowly failing Polish restaurant near the corner of Manhattan Ave and Norman Ave in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, a deeply Polish neighborhood. He eventually bought the restaurant, borrowing money from family and friends, and cooked during the day, while renovating the space at night. His goal was to build a nice place and serve good traditional Polish food, the neighborhood embraced him, and Krolewskie Jadlo was born. Kristophe is Kris’ latest venture and features some of his best ever dishes, including spiced sweet potato pierogies and roasted duck legs with cherry sauce. Here he offers a refined but unpretentious dining experience in the heart of Williamsburg.
